Generation of genome-edited mice using early embryos

Laboratory Animal Science

Trans-border Medical Research Center

University of Tsukuba

Overview

In Laboratory Animal Science, we aim to develop high quality laboratory animals with innovative approach. Mice share 95 percent of human genes and get most of the same human diseases with the same genetic reasons. Laboratory mice provides us essential experiment platforms for the advancement of medical sciences. Especially, genetically modified mice are used very often to study in vivo function of genes and proteins in development, homeostasis and disease.

In this course you will learn about methods for the generation of genome edited mice using early embryos.

We hope you find this course interesting.
